The first ship has been made in de summer of 2002 . The cutting is done during a holliday in Normandy France, therefore the name "Normandy". All ships are made from scratch, just taken from a photo or drawing. Not on scale or technical drawings used. The size is about 35-50 centimeters long. The reason to make them? Just for fun. I like to make as many different models as possible. The way of making them is simple. Just a big block of wood and start cutting, sawing with the help of various tools.

They call this blockmodels, some are hollow inside some don't. All the models has planking at the outside except the lightship. The coalfreighter and the tugboat has small metalplates at the ouitside and are my first engines fitted ships.
